The Boston College Investment Club was founded as an independent fund in 1982 with $80,000 in seed money.
In the 36 years following its inception, BCIC has strived to develop a legacy of conscientious investors who are well-attuned to the dynamic financial markets. We seek to promote those members who are passionate about the field and possess a strong sense of integrity.
The Boston College Investment Club (BCIC) manages a fund of ~$670,000. We primarily invest in U.S. equities. Founded in 1982, our fund is a fully student-run organization.
Whereas it is common to take a top-down approach to investing (identifying target sectors or industries and focusing funds
there), BCIC opts for a bottoms-up approach. We collectively strive to unearth those companies with unique business models that have successfully set themselves apart from their industry. These are companies that have established a competitive advantage for themselves and have worked to maintain that advantage by continually adapting and adjusting to market conditions.
We aim to encourage our members to identify companies with formidable management teams that have demonstrated a strong—but replicable—growth tragectory over time.
